Hi there, my name is Melissa, I am a registered dietitian and it took me 14 years to find food freedom.

I spent a decade & a half

  • Counting Calories

  • Making sure I hit the gym at least 6 times per week regardless of how I was feeling

  • Unable to accept my body no matter how many times I tried to manipulate it

  • Battling my desire to be free against the authority of my food rules

  • Putting my dreams on hold while I tried to figure out how to get control of food and body

It wasn’t until I became pregnant and was sick for 9 months that I was FORCED to abandon my food rules.

There was no way I could eat 5 servings of vegetables a day when the only thing I wasn’t throwing up was McDonald’s french fries. I was FORCED to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted because those were the only times I could stomach anything. Something clicked here.

Life, all of a sudden, became so much less stressful without food rules.

I realized that I could eat whatever my body was truly craving without my life falling apart. I was freed and I decided never to go back.

Not only did my life not fall apart…

I learned how to reconnect with my intuition in ALL areas of my life. I escaped the self-destructive cycle of disordered eating.


This crazy thing happened…where all of the other areas of my life started to become stronger and more authentic as well.

Along with sloughing off food rules I also sloughed off... 

  • toxic and unhealthy relationships

  • career paths I was never meant to be on

  • and caring what other people thought of me.

What I gained in return is…

  • Freedom around food to eat what I want AND nourish my body

  • A new love for exercise and taking care of myself 

  • healthy relationships - both platonic and romantic - because I learned to advocate for my needs and hold boundaries confidently and lovingly

  • a career that I LOVE and no longer feel imposter syndrome in

  • Boundaries with family members who always had something to say

  • and the ability to show up authentically in every area of my life (whereas before, I didn’t know what that meant)

I realized I was using disordered eating to cope with other areas of my life being out of alignment and those other areas of life were being affected by disordered eating.

It was one big toxic cycle that was feeding itself.

Freedom isn’t going to come through another diet or another food rule.

What got you here isn’t going to get you out.

In order to get out, you need to do something that’s actually different.

You need to reconnect with your own intuition and learn how to trust it again.

Phase 1: Establishing a Foundation

We’ll come up with an eating framework for you to start with. This will be the place from which we:

  • Challenge food rules

  • Understand the limiting beliefs that have contributed to a distorted relationship with food

  • Receive individualized nutrition education to help challenge limiting beliefs


Phase 2: Body Image

  • Understand where your beliefs about body come from

  • Learn how to start developing acceptance and appreciation for the body that you have grown such hatred for

Phase 3: Developing The Tools

  • Make peace with food (this is when bingeing stops)

  • Learn how to cope with emotions without using restriction/food

  • Begin to experience what intuitive eating looks like for you in your life

Phase 4: Shadow Work

  • Uncover all of the reasons why your relationship with food became distorted in the first place

  • Learn how cultural, familial, and systemic structures influenced the way you perceive your body

Phase 5: Connect Into a New, more Authentic Life

  • Piece back together all the parts of your life with your new food freedom
